Autumn 2023 Ecotherapy Workshop

Join us for a seasonal ecotherapy workshop to explore our intrinsic connection to the earth through guided movement, mindfulness, and integration on the land.

Intentions for this workshop include:

  • Engaging in individual experiences in our local landscape in the safe container of a group

  • Centering and tuning into our senses with guided movement and mindfulness

  • Connecting to the beauty and excitement of AUTUMN!

The group will take place on Sunday, November 19th from 8:30am to 12:30pm at Deer Creek Hills Preserve, about 40 minutes southeast of Sacramento. This group is limited to 12 people, open to ages 18 and older. QTBIPOC folx are encouraged to join!


Please consider the following:

  • You must bring your own water, snacks, layers, seat, and anything else you need to be comfortable for the workshop.

  • You must be able to walk for at least 30 minutes on varied terrain, including dirt, rocks, and grassland. Please wear close-toed shoes and dress appropriately for the forecasted weather.

  • Each visitor to the preserve is required to fill out a release of liability waiver for Sacramento Valley Conservancy and your facilitators.

This workshop is offered on a sliding scale. The actual cost of the workshop is $100 and tickets below that price are limited. A portion of the fee goes to Sacramento Valley Conservancy for us of the preserve.

About your facilitators:

Roz Katonah (They/Them) is a QTBIPOC Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who helps clients by providing a space where they can remember their intrinsic connection to the earth. Their private practice supports queer, transgender and non-binary adults and teens of color through mindfulness, nervous system regulation skills and nature awareness. Roz has facilitated workshops as an Outdoor Afro Leader, a Queer Mountain Quest Rites of Passage guide and for the People of Global Majority in the Outdoors, Nature and Environment Summit. They are a curious soul who is fascinated by the spiritual experience of being in an intelligent human body. As a QTBIPOC they find joy in living their best imagined life.These days they are having fun playing in the garden with their kiddo, playing softball and expanding time for creativity. Megan Cannon (she/they) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering psychotherapy and community workshops with a focus on somatic awareness and ecotherapy. She supports people in healing their relationships to themselves, the people around them, and with the more-than-human world. Megan experiences joy in swimming, bike rides with family and friends, gathering people together at the full moon, getting to know the bird neighbors, and creating a sustainable, hand-made wardrobe. They are based in Sacramento and meet with clients in-person and virtually throughout California.
