Intentions for this workshop include:

  • Deepening our connection to our local landscape

  • Settling in with guided movement and mindfulness

  • Nurturing resilience and interconnectedness

  • Engaging with nature in reciprocal healing - all around themes of SUMMER!

We will be meeting on Sunday, August 20 from 8:00am-11:00am at Deer Creek Hills Preserve. The group is limited to 12 people, ages 18 years and older. QTBIPOC folx are encouraged to join!

Deer Creek Hills Preserve is located about 40 minutes southeast of Sacramento. The final road to access the preserve is unpaved (and quite bumpy!) and you will cross Crevis Creek, which should be passable by any vehicle at this point in the year. There is no running water on the property and there are clean porta-pottys at the trailhead.

At the preserve, we will gather at the corral for some brief introductions and then walk for about 30 minutes to the place where we will spend the morning in connection with our human, oak, bird kin - and more!

Please consider the following:

  • You must bring your own water, snacks, shade, layers, and blanket or small chair. It will likely be hot!

  • You must be able to walk for at least 30 minutes on varied terrain, including dirt, rocks, and grassland. Please wear close-toed shoes and dress appropriately for the forecasted weather.

  • Each visitor to the preserve is required to fill out a release of liability waiver for Sacramento Valley Conservancy and your facilitators.

Additional details and waivers will be sent by email to participants prior to the event. Please direct any questions to connect@megancannonlcsw.com.

This workshop is offered at a sliding scale. The actual cost of the workshop is $100 and tickets below that price are limited. A portion of the fee goes to Sacramento Valley Conservancy for use of the preserve.
